Well, I once read that there was something you could do to download all the files at the same time so that you would not have to download something everytime you go somewhere and I'm just wondering now that I'm about to install GW on a new computer.. how?
just install the game using the cd's. Then right click the shortcut to GW.exe and edit the command line by adding -image. This way it downloads everything
Example:
It goes from this:
"E:\Games\Guild Wars\Gw.exe"
to this:
"E:\Games\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image
Make two shortcuts, one with the -image command and one without so if there is an update, you can click on the update one. When it is done, you can launch the regular one without changing commands everytime

I might add to this:
1. Defrag you hard drive first.
2. Install from CD or download the client from the website (http://www.guildwars.com/support/downloadclient/).
3. Use the -image switch per Seren!ty's post to download the entire GW.dat file.
4. Defrag the GW.dat file using contig (or contig plus the power defragmenter frontend).
By getting GW.dat into one contiguous file on your hard drive, you should increase performance pretty noticeably.
